In all of our workshops, we always ask participants their goals for the session. We get lots of great answers to that query. The participants in our workshops almost always come with ambitious and lofty goals.
And one theme we frequently hear is that the people we work with want to have great communication skills so that they can better articulate their value, their product, their service… Their brand. We applaud those goals.
But they also (slightly) miss the mark. Great communication skills do more than allow you to communicate your offer or your brand. Great communication skills can become part OF YOUR BRAND. Great communication skills can become part of what you are known for.
Imagine this… Imagine if you are known as someone who always gets to the point… Who doesn’t waste time… Who makes complicated things easier to understand… Who can articulate the vision in easy-to-grasp ways. Imagine how powerful that would be for you.
Your communication skills should not just allow you to communicate your brand. They can become a critical aspect of what you are known for.
Now THAT is a great goal.
Good luck, and have a great day.
