Let’s Pause, Be Grateful and Aware

The Latimer Group team is taking a much-needed and well-deserved break this week. Like many of you, we have experienced a wide range of highs and lows this year. So, I have encouraged our team to try to pause, and take a really deep breath for a few days this week. Deep breaths are good for the mind, body and soul. We hope you will do the same for yourself, your team, and your family.

And while taking that deep breath, perhaps spend a few minutes taking an inventory of the the things to be grateful for. Gratitude is an important part of a healthy mind, and a healthy mind leads to lots of good things. I know I will spend a lot of time these next few days reflecting and focusing on gratitude.

But it might also make sense to spend another few minutes being aware of the obvious societal inequities around us that have long been present, but have become even more clear this year. I know I will spend time on that as well over these next few days. Our first responsibilities are to care for ourselves, our families, and those in our immediate circles. But a close second responsibility is to care for the people in our larger community that may need a helping hand.

The last thing I would ever do is tell another person how to spend their time over their holiday. But I will always encourage those who might listen to spend equal time being grateful for the good, and thinking of ways to lend a helping hand to those who need it.

On behalf of my team at The Latimer Group, we wish you a peaceful and restful holiday break. We will be back next week, and look forward to crossing paths with you soon.

Stay healthy and safe.
