How to Add Immense Value to Everyone and Everything

There is a theme that comes up in every workshop we teach… we live in a really noisy world. The world is loud, there is endless competition for mindshare and attention, and everyone we speak to is drowning in too much information, too many meetings, too much access, too little time.

This problem is chronic and widespread.

And this problem has changed what it means to be a really great communicator, and what it means to be “smart.” Twenty years ago, right around the time I started The Latimer Group, you could be the smartest person in the room by having more and better information than everyone else. Information was not as readily available and accessible as it is today.

But, now for a variety of reasons, everyone has all the information and data that they need… and then some.

Today, the smartest person in the room is not the person with the most information. Today, the smartest person in the room is the one who can synthesize information into usable forms. Today, the smartest person in the room is the one who can make things simple and understandable and absorbable. The smartest person in the room is the one who can create simplicity amidst chaos, who can help the group make a plan.

I relearn this lesson over and over in every workshop I teach. People are literally craving simplicity. Be the one who can provide it. You will be adding immense value to everyone around you.

Have a great day.

Does your team:
– Overwhelm the audience with too much detail?
– Make things too complicated?
– Fail to ask for what they want or need?

Does your organization:
– Waste time because of poor internal communication?
– Take too long to make decisions?
– Struggle to clarify and frame discussions?

Do your leaders:
– Exhibit poor executive presence?
– Lean on incomplete communication skills?
– Fail to align the organization?
