What Are the Ingredients for Great Communication?

At The Latimer Group, we believe there are five “ingredients” that must be present in order to have effective, persuasive communication: Clarity, Brevity, Context, Impact, and Value.

We teach these concepts in our workshops and write about them here on our blog all the time, and we believe that all great communication contains these five ingredients in varying amounts. How much of each ingredient we use when we communicate depends on our audience. One audience may need more Clarity when communicating with you, while another may need a little more Context, or Value.

Knowing your audience and the other preparation you do before presenting will ensure that you use the right amounts of each “ingredient” each time you communicate to get the outcome you seek.

Good luck.
